AILET 2024 Subject-wise Division

English section in the AILET paper isn’t based on memorization. It tests your comprehension skills and grasp of elementary vocabulary and grammar skills. The real issue is that you need to comprehend, analyze and answer multiple questions within a specific time limit.
To ensure that you perform well in this section, we’d recommend you go through multiple mock tests, practice questions, and sample papers during this time. Time yourself while solving these questions. You can also go through editorials on a daily basis to improve your reading speed.
Dedicate at least 1.5 hours each day: 45 minutes to read passages and solve 4-5 questions following the passage and another 45 minutes to brush up your knowledge on- synonyms-antonyms, idioms, spotting errors, sentence structure improvement, etc.
You can refer to the previous years’ questions to gain a better understanding of the pattern. A tip you can apply is to use the idioms, and words you learn in regular conversations!
You can go through the questions in about 10-20 seconds before you start reading the passages. This will make it easy for you to search for the answers you might be looking for! While reading the passage, be focused and put emphasis on understanding the context or gist of the passage first.

You can also go through posts like these to improve your reading comprehension skills.
While there is this notion that the English section requires you to spend a lot of time on it, one can definitely say that it is the Logical Reasoning section that tests not just your ability to comprehend, but also your ability to analyze, understand and identify patterns and therefore, takes more time. To be able to solve the Logical Reasoning Section quickly and accurately, you can first go through our sample question posts (here and here) to gauge your preparation level and then work on the areas that need improvement.
Here are a few tips you can use:
AILET’s General Knowledge section carries questions on both current and static GK; however, if previous year papers are to be seen, the exam places more emphasis on current events.
If you’re taking the examination in December 2023, it would be wise to prepare for current events from the months of November 2022- November 2023. Ideally, you should go through newspapers, online sources, etc., and make your own notes on current events. However, since there is a paucity of time, we’ll focus on covering more information in a short span of time.
