Lawctopus is announcing a call for law notes with an aim to provide students of law across the country with quality notes to supplement their legal studies (especially exam preparation).
We want YOU to share your notes on any law subject you love!
Whether you’re into criminal law, constitutional law, business law, or anything in between, we’re all ears.
This call for notes is an opportunity to explore your interests, deepen your understanding of legal issues, and contribute to the collective knowledge of the legal community as well as get FREE access to our meticulously curated self-paced courses!
Note: We strongly recommend that “notes” be used only to supplement your education and to support you in exam preparation. As a would-be lawyer, there is no substitute for studying Bare Acts, Case Laws, and Research Papers through and through.
Who can Submit?
- Law students (UG, PG, PhD) currently in college.
- Law graduates (UG/PG/PhD) are also welcome to share their updated notes.
- Lawyers.
- Academicians.

Submission Guidelines
- The notes should be sent via Google Forms in Doc or Docx file only. The submission should be the original work of the author(s).
- Lawctopus will upload only ‘Quality Notes’. Quality Notes contain a lot of inputs from the authors and are not a mere rehash of content taken from multiple places.
- The use of tables, flow charts, and other creative ways to structure information/knowledge is highly encouraged.
- Notes should NOT be plagiarised. Notes, of course, can contain text sections taken from sections, judgments, or books. These should be cited, and not more than 10% of any specific ‘work’ can be copied verbatim.
- The title of the doc/file should state the name of the author and their college, year of study, and the name of the subject.
Formatting Guidelines
- All notes should contain a detailed ‘Table of Contents’ which mentions the topic, sub-headings, sub sub-headings, and page numbers.
- Font size and style of the body of the notes: 12, Times New Roman with the line spacing at 1.5
- The case laws mentioned in the notes should be bold + italicised. IndianKanoon or any other trusted, open-source links should be cited for caselaws.
- Sections used should be boldened. IndianKanoon or any other trusted, open-source links should be cited for sections.
- Footnotes and hyperlinks are encouraged and should be used in a uniform manner.
- Font size and style for Footnotes: 10, Times New Roman
Submission Process
- All submissions must be sent via the form attached at the end of this post.
- Only notes that meet Lawctopus’ selection criteria and formatting guidelines will be published on our platform. The published authors will be notified about their access to our free self-paced course.
