CLAT 2027: WBNUJS Changes Reservation Category for West Bengal OBC Candidates; Update by Oct 31
The Consortium of National Law Universities (CNLUs) has issued a notification dated September 5, 2026, announcing changes to the reservation category applicable to The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS), Kolkata.
Candidates who have applied under the OBC-A/OBC-B categories of West Bengal domicile are advised to review the revised seat matrix and update their reservation category, if applicable and eligible.
What Has Changed?
For both UG and PG admissions, the following changes have been made:
- OBC-A and OBC-B of West Bengal have been removed.
- OBC of West Bengal has been added.
Candidates who are eligible under the revised category should update their reservation details accordingly.
Who Needs to Update Their Reservation?
Candidates who have applied under the OBC-A/OBC-B categories of West Bengal domicile should carefully review the revised reservation categories and update their application if they are eligible to claim the newly added OBC of West Bengal category.
The change applies to both UG and PG admissions at WBNUJS, Kolkata.
How to Update Your Reservation Category?
Candidates can update their reservation category through their CLAT account by following these steps:
- Log in to your CLAT account.
- Click on the ‘Edit Application Form’ button.
- Go to the ‘Reservations’ tab.
- Under The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS), Kolkata, answer the question ‘Are you a domicile of West Bengal?’
- Select the category you wish to claim from the drop-down box.
- Click on ‘Save/Submit’ to save the changes.
Deadline to Update Reservation
Candidates are required to update their reservation category by:
October 31, 2026
Candidates should complete the update within the prescribed deadline if they are eligible under the revised category.

Candidates are advised to refer to the updated brochure of WBNUJS, Kolkata, available on the Consortium website under the “Participating Universities” page.
