LEGAL NEWS

  • The Government of India promulgated an ordinance to amend coal mining laws in order to ease auction of coal mines.
  • The Union Cabinet approved Medical Termination of Pregnancy (Amendment) Bill, 2020. The bill aims to amend the Medical Termination of Pregnancy act, 1971.
  • The Union Cabinet approved the official amendments to National Commission for Indian System of Medicine bill, 2019.
  • The Andhra Pradesh cabinet Passed bill abolish Legislative Council. It is to be noted that the Legislative Council stalled two bills that were passed by the assembly.
  • The Union Cabinet approved the National Commission for homoeopathy bill, 2019. (The bill consist reforms in the field of Homeopathy education To enable accountability and transparency in protecting the interests of the general public)
  • The Cabinet approved the official amendments to National Commission for Indian System of Medicine bill, 2019.
  • The Supreme Court said that access to the Internet is a fundamental right under Article 19 of the Constitution. 5-judge bench headed by Justice NV Ramana also asked the Jammu and Kashmir administration to restore Internet services.
