  • Jallianwala Bagh National Memorial (Amendment) Bill 2019 passed by Lok Sabha in the last session, was passed by Rajya Sabha now.
  • Za’ir-Al-Bahr (Roar of the Sea), a three day naval exercise between Qatar and India was conducted.
  • The long awaited Ayodhya dispute case was decided by a constitutional bench headed by CJI Ranjan Gogoi. The court declared that 2.77 acres of land was given for the construction of temple and the five acre plot was given at a suitable place for mosque.
  • Review Petitions against the 2018 Supreme Court decision lifting the ban on entry of women in Sabarimala temple, referred to larger bench.
  • Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Bill 2019 passed by Parliament.
  • Chit funds (Amendment) Bill 2019 got passed by Lok Sabha.
  • Review Petitions against 2018 judgement upholding 36 Rafale Fighter aircraft, dismissed by 3 judge bench of Supreme Court led by CJI Ranjan Gogoi.
  • Prohibition of Electronic Cigarettes Bill 2019 passed by Lok Sabha.
  • National Capital Territory (Recognition of property rights of Residents in Unauthorised Colonies) Bill 2019, passed by Lok Sabha.
  • Recycling of Ships bill, 2019 approved by Union Cabinet.
  • As per 2019 Open Doors Report on International Educational Exchange”, India is the second largest in sending students to US.
  • The charge as 47th Chief Justice of India was taken by Justice Sharad Arvind Bobde.
  • A 5 judge bench headed by CJI Ranjan Gogoi declared that Chief Justice of India is a public authority under Right to Information Act
