MH CET Law is a state-level examination conducted annually by the Directorate of Higher Education, Maharashtra for admission into the 3- and 5-year L.L.B. programs.

MH CET Law Eligibility Criteria

For the 5-year program
(a) An applicant who has successfully completed Senior Secondary School course (+2)or equivalent course from the Institute in Maharashtra State from a recognized Board in India with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate for OPEN, EWS (Economically Weaker Section) & Outside Maharashtra State candidates (OMS) i.e. All India Candidature Candidates. 
(b) For candidates belonging to the SC & ST Category from the State of Maharashtra the minimum cutoff is 40% marks in aggregate and for VJNT, SBC, and OBC Category candidates from Maharashtra, the minimum cutoff is 42% marks in aggregate.
(c) The applicants who have obtained +2 Higher Secondary Pass Certificate or First Degree Certificate after processing studies in Distance or Correspondence method are also eligible for the course. Candidates who have obtained 10+2 through the Open University system directly without having any basic qualifications are not eligible. 
(d) The qualifications of 10th (SSC), and 12th (HSC) (+2) may be obtained through any mode (distance / correspondence / open schooling method).
(e) The Applicant/s must obtain basic qualification for admission to the 5-year degree course for which the Basic Qualification shall be 10th(SSC) followed by +2(HSC).
(f) Candidates who are appearing/ have appeared for the qualifying examination (regular examination of that Academic Year) are also eligible to apply for the Entrance Examination. Such candidates will be eligible for admission only if they produce the provisional/Degree/ certificate of the qualifying examination and the mark lists of the qualifying examination at the time of admission.
(g) The age limit criteria suggest that candidates should be at least 20 years old at the time of admission. However, in the case of candidates belonging to OBC, SC, and ST categories of Maharashtra state, the age limit is a minimum of 22 years at the time of admission.
For the 3-year LLB program
a) Candidates should hold a 3-year graduation degree in any faculty from any University in Maharashtra recognized by UGC with a minimum of 45% marks (minimum 40% marks for candidates belonging to SC & ST category/ minimum 42% marks for candidates belonging to VJNT, SBC and OBC, category).
(b) Candidates who are appearing/ have appeared for the qualifying examination (regular examination of that Academic Year) are also eligible to apply for the Entrance Examination. Such candidates will be eligible for admission only if they produce the provisional/Degree/ certificate of the qualifying examination and the mark lists of the qualifying examination at the time of admission.

MH CET Law Registration and Application Process

Once you ensure that you’ve met the eligibility criteria for the program you’re interested in, you can start with the application process. 
Steps for Registration 
  • Ensure that you meet the eligibility requirements for the program.
  • Go to this website and click on the application link. Please keep in mind that the application lin for both the 3-year and 5-year programs are different.
  • Clicking on the application link will open up a prompt for registration.
  • Fill up the relevant information and you will be provided with a unique candidate account and application number once you’ve registered successfully.
Steps to complete the MH CET Law 2023 Application Process
  • Log in to the account created by registration.
  • Enter all relevant information like educational qualifications, requisite documents, etc. Ensure that the information being entered is accurate otherwise it might lead to the rejection of your application.
  • Pay the application fee as asked via Credit Card/ Debit Card (RuPay/ Visa/ Maestro/ MasterCard), Mobile Wallets, or NetBanking, etc.
  • The application fee for MH CET Law 2023 is INR 800/- for general category candidates both inside and outside the state.
  • The application fee for reserved category candidates from Maharashtra is INR 600/-
  • Once you’ve paid the fees, collect the e-receipt and submit the application.
Note: Candidates are advised to check their information before submitting the application. 
Candidates are also advised to take a printout of both and keep it in safe custody since both documents will be required for admission. 

MH CET Law Exam Pattern

The total duration of the examination is 2 hours with 150 questions in total. The exam is divided into 5 sections with no negative marking at all.

MH CET Law Syllabus for 5-year program

Legal Aptitude and Legal Reasoning: The section contains 40 questions for 40 marks and tests the candidate’s legal aptitude and reasoning ability. The questions in this section are based on legal facts and propositions.

Maths: This section has 10 questions worth 10 marks. Questions asked in this section judge the candidate’s numerical ability.

MH CET Law Syllabus for the 3-year program is the same except the Maths section. There are no questions from the Maths section in the MH CET Law Syllabus for 3-year program. 

MH CET Law 2023 Exam Date

The test for MH CET Law 5-year program is to be held on 2nd April, 2023 (Sunday).
The test for MH CET Law 3-year program is to be held on 2nd May, 2023 (Tuesday) and 3rd May, 2023 ( Wednesday).
