Important Topics for CLAT 2025: Logical Reasoning
Questions from CLAT 2023 Logical Reasoning Section were primarily straightforward. However, it was the length of the passages, contextual understanding and critical analyses that the candidates struggled with a bit.
The Logical Reasoning section of CLAT usually includes a series of short passages of about 300 words each. Each passage is followed by one or more questions that will require you to:
- Recognize an argument, its premises and conclusions;
- Read and identify the arguments set out in the passage;
- Critically analyze patterns of reasoning, and assess how conclusions may depend on particular premises or evidence;
- Infer what follows from the passage and apply these inferences to new situations;

In the CLAT 2023 Paper Current Affairs section, though the passages ranged from current affairs topics like FIFA World Cup to supercomputers and AI, the students were troubled with a myriad of Static GK questions. While CLAT 2021 and 2022 had relatively easier questions, questions in CLAT 2023 were moderate in nature. In Quantitative Techniques section, questions include short sets of facts or propositions, graphs, or other textual, pictorial or diagrammatic representations of numerical information, followed by a series of questions. Candidates are required to derive information from such passages, graphs, or other representations, and apply mathematical operations on such information.
