Revised Guidelines for AIBE XIX Registration Process Out Now! Students in Final Year Can Attempt AIBE 2025
The Bar Council of India (BCI) has issued fresh guidelines for the registration process of the upcoming All India Bar Examination (AIBE-XIX) . These new instructions cater to specific groups of candidates and aim to ensure a streamlined registration experience.
Who Can Register for AIBE 2025?
The revised rules are relevant for the following groups of candidates:
- Final Semester Law Students (3-year or 5-year LL.B) Without Backlogs Students currently in the final semester of their law degree—whether in a 3-year or 5-year LL.B program who have no outstanding academic backlogs can proceed with AIBE-XIX registration.
- Law Graduates Awaiting Degree or Enrollment Graduates who have completed their LL.B but are yet to receive their degree or have not enrolled with any State Bar Council are also eligible to register. This provision ensures that recent law graduates can move ahead in their legal careers without facing unnecessary delays.
- Law Graduates Who Surrendered Enrollment Due to Employment This applies to law graduates who had previously enrolled with a State Bar Council but surrendered their certificates due to employment obligations. These individuals can now re-enroll and register for the AIBE-XIX under the updated criteria.
Importance of BCI Recognition
A key requirement in the updated guidelines is that candidates must be either studying at or graduated from a university or college that is recognized by the Bar Council of India.
Institutions must have BCI approval and be affiliated with a BCI-recognized university. Candidates who do not meet this requirement will be considered ineligible to sit for AIBE-XIX.
