AILET 2026 Exam Date Announced by NLU Delhi!
National Law University Delhi (NLU Delhi), one of India’s premier law schools, has officially announced the notification for the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) 2026.

About AILET 2026

AILET is a national-level law entrance examination conducted annually by NLU Delhi to select candidates for admission to its flagship B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) program, LL.M. program, and Ph.D. research courses.

Important Dates and Application Process

According to the official notification released on June 17, 2025, the AILET 2025 exam is scheduled to be held on December 7, 2025.
The university will open the online application window starting August 1, 2025. Candidates interested in applying for any of the programs must complete the application process within the stipulated timeframe.

Eligibility Criteria for AILET 2026

  • B.A.LL.B. (Hons.): Candidates must have completed their 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board with a minimum aggregate percentage of 45% for general candidates and 40% for others. There is no age limit for this program.
  • LL.M.: Applicants should hold an LL.B. degree or its equivalent from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% for general candidates and 40% for others.
  • Ph.D.: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in law or an equivalent qualification, fulfilling the minimum academic standards set by NLU Delhi.
Candidates are encouraged to carefully review the detailed eligibility conditions and ensure they possess the necessary qualifications before applying.

Exam Pattern and Syllabus

AILET 2026 will be conducted in a pen-and-paper mode at various test centers across India. The exam pattern for the undergraduate program typically includes sections on English Language, General Knowledge, and Reasoning Ability. The paper is of 150 marks with each question carrying 1 mark along with a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.
For postgraduate and doctoral programs, the exam pattern and syllabus vary, focusing more on legal research aptitude and specialized legal knowledge.
