National Law University, Delhi (NLU Delhi) has introduced a major incentive for law aspirants aiming for top ranks in the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET).
Beginning with the upcoming academic session, the student securing All India Rank 1 in AILET and enrolling in the B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) course will be awarded a full tuition scholarship for the academic year. The initiative is part of the university’s effort to recognize exceptional merit while promoting greater access to quality legal education.
Alongside the scholarship, NLU Delhi has also revised the AILET 2026 application fees to make the exam more affordable. The General category fee has been lowered from ₹3,500 to ₹3,000, while candidates from the SC, ST, and Persons with Disabilities categories will now pay ₹1,000 instead of ₹1,500.
AILET, conducted annually by NLU Delhi, is one of India’s most competitive law entrance examinations. It serves as the exclusive gateway to the university’s B.A. LL.B. (Hons.), LL.M., and Ph.D. programmes.
Known for its rigorous testing pattern, AILET evaluates candidates on subjects including English, Logical Reasoning, General Knowledge, Current Affairs, and Legal Reasoning. Each year, thousands of aspirants from across the country compete for a limited number of seats, making the examination not only a test of knowledge but also of speed, strategy, and composure under pressure.
The application window for AILET 2026 opened on 7 August 2025, giving students ample time to prepare and register. The examination is scheduled to be held on 14 December 2025 in offline mode at centres across India.
