1. Point 5140 at Dras Sector named as Gun Hill to mark victory of Operation Vijay.
- Point 5140 at Dras, which is in Kargil Sector.
- It was renamed Gun Hill to commemorate the victory of IAF and pay tribute to war heroes in Operation Vijay 1999.
- The capture of this point is the reason behind the early end to the Kargil War. This operation was called Operation Vijay.

2. Indian Oil signs MoU with NTCA for relocation of Cheetah.
- NTCA: National Tiger Conservation Authority.
- Done for transcontinental relocation of Cheetahs from Namibia.
- Signed between S.M Vaidya, Chairman, Indian Oil & S.P Yadav, Addl. Director General(Project Tiger) and Member Secretary, NTCA.
- An MoU was previously signed between India and Namibia related to wildlife conservation and sustainable biodiversity utilisation.
- Under this, Indian Oil will contribute Rs. 50.22 crores over five years. 8-10 Cheetahs will be flown in from Namibia and introduced at Kuno National Park, Madhya Pradesh.
- Indian Oil has adopted the Indian Single Horned Rhino as its mascot in 2021.
3. India adds 10 more wetlands as Ramsar Sites.
- India has designated 10 more wetlands sites under Ramsar Convention, taking the total count to 64 from 54.
- 10 new sites: 6 in Tamil Nadu, and 1 each in Goa, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, and Odisha.
- Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change- Bhupendra Yadav.
- Largest Ramsar Site: Sundarbans
- World’s largest Ramsar Site: Queen Maude Gulf Migratory Bird Sanctuary, Canada.
- Oldest Ramsar Sites- Chilika Lake, Odisha & Keoladeo National Park, Rajasthan.

4. Jagdeep Dhankar elected as 14th Vice President.
- Jagdeep Dhankar- New Vice-President of India.
- Former Bengal Governor, NDA member.
- Won against Margaret Alva
- Won with 74. 36 % vote share, highest in the past six vice-presidential elections.
- Administered Oath by President Smt. Draupadi Murmu.
- Vice President is elected for a 5-year term.
5. First woman-director of CSIR- Nallathamby Kalaiselvi.
- CSIR- Council of Scientific and Industrial Research
- She succeeded Shekhar Mande.
- Formerly, she was Director of CSIR- Central Electrochemical Research Institute, Tamil Nadu.
- CSIR: Set up as an autonomous body in 1942.
- CSIR President: Prime Minister of India

6. 2022 Commonwealth Games, held at Birmingham.
- Idea was introduced by Astley Cooper, held every 4 years.
- Also known as Friendly Games.

- First Commonwealth Games was held at Hamilton, Canada, 1930.
- Sports Minister of India: Anurag Thakur
- India won 61 medals: 22 golds, 16 silvers, 23 bronze.

7. India’s first Virtual Space Museum.
- ISRO: Indian Space Research Organisation.
- ISRO was established in 1969.
- Digital museum called SPARK space museum.
- The platform hosts several documents, images and videos related to ISRO launch vehicles, satellites and scientific missions
- Launched by Chairman of ISRO: S. Somnath.
- Part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
