  • Aircraft Act 1934 amended by Aircraft (Amendment) Bill 2020.
  • Code on Occupational Safety, Health & Working Conditions Code, 2020 passed in Lok Sabha
  • Three bills for the transformation of Agriculture sector introduced in Lok Sabha
  1. The Essential Commodities (Amendment) Bill, 2020
  2. The Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, 2020
  3. The Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill, 2020
  • The Parliament passed Epidemic Diseases (Amendment) Bill, 2020 replacing the ordinance protecting the healthcare workers from violence.
  • National Commission for Indian System of Medicine Bill, 2019 was passed by Parliament
  • The Parliament passed National Forensic Sciences University Bill, 2020 and Rashtriya Raksha University Bill, 2020.
  • Jammu and Kashmir Official Languages Bill, 2020 passed by the Parliament. The languages declared as the official language of the state by the bill are Hindi, English, Kashmiri, Urdu, and Dogri.
  • The parliament passed Insolvency and Bankruptcy (Second Amendment) Bill 2020.
  • Geographical Indication (GI)) granted to Dalle Khursani found in Sikkim and areas nearby. Dalle Khursani is one of the spiciest chillies in the world.

National

  • 118 Chinese Mobile Applications banned by the Central Government in addition to 59 Chinese applications banned in June 2020.
  • Hypersonic Technology Demonstration Vehicle (HSTDV) successfully flight-tested by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).
  • JIMEX-2020 which was a bilateral military exercise between the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) and Indian Navy completed.

  • By 2030, Indian Railways aims to become ‘net zero carbon emitter’.

  • Dominic Thiem (Austria) won in the men’s single category in 2020 US Open (tennis).

  • Shekhar Kapur appointed as the chairman of FTII (Film and Television Institute of India) Pune.
  • Harivansh Narayan Singh re-elected as Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha
  • Sripathi Panditaradhyula Balasubrahmanyam, the renowned singer in India passed away.
  • Rajiv Kumar assumed the charge of Election Commissioner.
  • Keasavananda Bharti Swamiji, the petitioner of the judgement dealing with the Doctrine of the basic structure, passed away.
