About the Speaker

Gaurav Kumar, 26, hails from Itahari village in Munger district, Bihar. A 2021 graduate of Surendranath Law College, Kolkata, he comes from a farming family with five siblings.
Struggling to pay the Rs 15,300 enrolment fee charged by the Delhi Bar Council, he borrowed money from friends and family to enrol in 2022.
Motivated by his own experience and the financial hardships faced by many, Kumar took on the challenge of reducing these fees. His efforts led to a landmark Supreme Court ruling on July 30, capping enrolment fees at Rs 700.
