With CLAT 2023 just a little over a month away, you need to start revising the current affairs of the past months.
Current Affairs is one of the scoring sections of CLAT and can fetch you a lot of marks if you play your cards right. Even educated guesses go a long way in making sure you get a good rank, provided you weigh it against the negative marking. In CLAT, questions are usually centered around the past 10 months’ major developments.
Here are a few tips you can use while preparing for the Current Affairs section.
- Self-Made Notes
Go through the notes you have made in the past few months. Add to it only if any new development has taken place. Read it regularly.

- Make a list of all important topics!
Find important topics from monthly magazines and compilations and then Google these topics and try to find as many important facts as possible about them. You can also look at sample questions and mocks to figure out probable questions for CLAT 2023.
- Static GK
Do you know how dynamic and static parts of GK are connected? When you are reading about any award presented to someone, find out when it was started, the first male and female to receive it, etc. When reading about a war between two countries, find out the historical reasons behind it, and past events that may have caused this. Currently, for example, a lot of changes have happened in the UK- read up about monarchy, presidential and prime ministerial system etc.
- Avail online resources!
With paucity of time it might not be possible for you to go through a lot of books or make notes, therefore, now would be a great time to invest your time in monthly compilations, news channels on YouTube as well as various online news sites to help you cover the syllabus.
- Prepare for the new pattern
CLAT’s new pattern is such that the candidates will be provided passages of 450 words each from various sources and questions will be asked per the passage. In this situation, not only is it important for you to have a good grasp over current affairs but also to have a decent reading-comprehension speed.
