In Conversation with Tanvi Suri on her Law School Journey through Jindal Global Law School
In this conversation with CLATalogue, Tanvi Suri reflects on her Law School Journey through Jindal Global Law School.

Tell us a bit about yourself.
My name is Tanvi Suri and I am a driven third-year BBA LLB Hons. student at Jindal Global Law School. My academic journey has been fortified by hands-on experience, having completed two internships in the domain of Mergers and Acquisitions, the most recent one being at the prestigious office of Nishith Desai Associates.
These internships have solidified my passion for corporate law and affirmed my desire to explore this avenue further. Alongside, my penchant for legal writing has yielded multiple publications, contributing to my reputation as a discerning legal professional capable of articulating intricate concepts with clarity and precision.
How did you start your journey in the field of law?
The dynamic realm of law, particularly when entwined with business, has consistently captivated my interest. This convergence of legal and business principles has kindled in me a fervent aspiration to specialize in corporate law, a field I find incredibly compelling.
How were your initial years in the law school?
During the initial years of my law school journey, I found the experience to be quite intimidating as I took some time to adjust to the rigorous coursework and the competitive atmosphere.
However, as time passed, I began to adapt and thrive. I actively engaged in various legal societies and clubs that aligned with my passions, which not only expanded my knowledge but also allowed me to network and connect with like-minded peers. Overall, those early years were a period of growth, learning, and discovery in my legal education journey.
What motivated you to pursue law as a career?
I think just the mere fact that it’s a professional degree and that advocates come across as intellectual individuals who can’t be messed around with, fascinated me. I wish to become someone who has it all in control like, perhaps, Harvey Specter in the famous show Suits!
Tell us a bit about your journey at Jindal Global Law School.
As a third-year law student reflecting on my law school journey, I can confidently say that it has been both challenging and rewarding. I’ve honed my legal research and writing skills, participated in legal writing competitions and deepened my understanding of various branches of law.
My time management and organizational skills have improved significantly, allowing me to balance academics, extracurricular activities, and internships effectively. While the journey has had its share of late nights and stressful situations, the pursuit of justice and all the knowledge gained make it all worthwhile.
What would you say sets apart your story from others?
I think we’re all law students sailing in same boat of unpaid internships, rigorous coursework, never-ending deadlines. But what I feel sets me apart is my passion for legal writing, I believe I possess a natural flair for writing that has resulted in my numerous publications.
Any advice you’d like to pass on to law school aspirants and law students?
Embrace the process, not just the end goal. Law school can be intense, so stay organized, manage your time wisely, and seek balance in your life.
Build strong relationships with professors and peers, as networking is crucial in the legal field. Don’t shy away from internships and practical experience; they’ll be invaluable.
Lastly, remember that growth often comes through challenges, so don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. Keep your passion for justice alive, and you’ll thrive in this demanding but rewarding path.
