Answer these questions honestly, and you’ll get your answer. CLAT 2023 is just 5 months away, scheduled to be held on December 18th, 2022. This short gap between the two consecutive exams makes it easier for one to take a gap year, if it is something you wish to do.

If you feel that your score could have been substantially better if only you could have rectified a few errors, then yes, taking a drop is a good plan. It will allow you to reflect on your mistakes, make your fundamentals stronger, and score well in CLAT 2023.

Make this drop meaningful. You do not need a year to prepare for this exam, you need practice, common and logical sense, and time management skills.

However, if upon taking this exam, you feel that it is not for you, if it doesn’t suit your interest, if you do not wish to spend more time on this, then perhaps a gap year wouldn’t be best for you.
